You don’t need to be the Nursery Manager to make a big difference to how a nursery feels.
Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for an experienced early years professional to join an established Wimbledon nursery as Deputy Nursery Manager.
This is a proper leadership position. You’ll work alongside the Nursery Manager to support the team, maintain standards, develop practitioners and help make sure the nursery runs effectively every day.
You’ll still be close enough to the rooms to understand what is happening on the floor, but you’ll also have the opportunity to become involved in the wider operational side of the setting.
Your role will include Supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery Leading and motivating the early years team Supporting staff performance, development and training Helping identify training needs across the setting Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and childcare Ensuring practice remains in line with the EYFS Supporting staff deployment and maintaining appropriate ratios Building strong relationships with parents and families Supporting new starters and developing less experienced practitioners Helping resolve concerns professionally and promptly Supporting the nursery with occupancy and wider operational targets Stepping into the Nursery Manager’s responsibilities when required
This role would suit someone who enjoys the people-management side of early years just as much as working directly with children.
Who we're looking for
You’ll need a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
Ideally, you’ll already be working as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Third-In-Charge, Assistant Manager or highly experienced Room Leader who has taken on wider responsibilities across a nursery.
You should be confident with:
EYFS requirements Safeguarding procedures Leading and developing staff Managing difficult conversations when necessary Supporting inspections and maintaining high standards Working closely with parents and carers Prioritising effectively in a busy nursery environment
Most importantly, you should be the sort of leader who can maintain standards without losing the supportive culture that keeps a good nursery team together.
Salary
Approximately £31,990 to £40,706 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

The setting is based on Queens Road in Wimbledon and is rated Good by Ofsted.
