Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join an independent early years setting in Egham, Surrey.
This is a permanent, full-time position within a smaller nursery where senior leaders remain visible and closely involved with both practitioners and families.
Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you will help maintain high standards across the setting, support the development of the team and step confidently into overall responsibility whenever required.
The nursery is part of an established independent childcare group with a strong focus on learning through play, close relationships and creating an environment where children can explore and develop at their own pace.
What you'll be doing: Supporting the Nursery Manager with the daily leadership and organisation of the setting Taking responsibility for the nursery when the Manager is unavailable Supporting Room Leaders and practitioners across the nursery Maintaining consistently high standards of care and early education Ensuring practice remains in line with the EYFS and regulatory requirements Supporting staff supervision, mentoring and professional development Helping organise staffing and effective deployment throughout the nursery day Monitoring children's experiences and the quality of practice across rooms Promoting excellent safeguarding and child protection practice Building strong and professional relationships with parents and carers Supporting inclusive practice and ensuring individual children's needs are recognised Helping develop less experienced practitioners and future leaders Contributing to staff meetings and quality improvement Supporting policies, records and nursery procedures Working closely with the wider management team across the organisation What we're looking for: A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification as a minimum Strong experience within a nursery or early years setting Previous Deputy Manager, Third in Charge, Room Leader or comparable leadership experience Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge Confidence supporting and developing a nursery team Good organisation and decision-making skills Strong communication skills with practitioners and families A calm and approachable leadership style Someone comfortable stepping up and taking responsibility A genuine interest in continuing to develop as an early years leader What's on offer: £30,000 to £31,000 per year Permanent, full-time employment 40 hours per week Company pension scheme Staff incentives Staff referral scheme Staff uniform Regular supervision and management support Online training External training courses Face-to-face and hands-on professional development Opportunities to progress across three nursery settings Regular staff meetings Optional staff get-togethers Strong focus on work-life balance Open-door management culture Supportive independent nursery environment
