Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join a well-established early years setting in West Drayton, West London.

This is a permanent, full-time leadership opportunity within a nursery that has been part of the local community for more than 25 years.

The setting is one of the larger nurseries within its independent group and offers extensive indoor and outdoor provision. As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the team, maintain excellent standards and make sure children receive consistently high-quality care and education.

This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be visible around the nursery, know the team and families and be confident stepping into overall responsibility whenever required.

What you'll be doing: Supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day leadership of the setting Taking responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence Leading and supporting Room Leaders and Nursery Practitioners Maintaining consistently high standards of care and early education Ensuring practice throughout the nursery reflects the EYFS Promoting excellent safeguarding and child protection practice Supporting staff supervision, mentoring and professional development Monitoring the quality of practice across nursery rooms Helping organise staffing and effective deployment throughout the day Supporting recruitment, induction and retention of nursery employees Building positive relationships with parents and carers Promoting inclusive practice and ensuring children's individual needs are recognised Supporting observations, planning and children's developmental outcomes Helping maintain policies, records and regulatory requirements Contributing to quality improvement and Ofsted preparation Working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider leadership team Creating a positive working culture where practitioners feel supported and accountable What we're looking for: A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification as a minimum Strong experience within a nursery or early years environment Previous Deputy Manager, Third in Charge, Room Leader or equivalent leadership experience Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge Confidence leading and developing a nursery team Experience supporting staff performance and professional development Strong organisational and decision-making skills Excellent communication with families and colleagues The ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in a busy setting A supportive but confident leadership style Someone ready to take genuine responsibility for nursery-wide standards What's on offer: £34,000 to £36,000 per year Permanent, full-time employment Company pension scheme Staff incentives Staff referral scheme Staff uniform Regular supervision and management support Continued training and professional development Online learning External courses Face-to-face and practical training Career progression across the wider nursery group Regular staff meetings Optional staff get-togethers Open-door management culture Strong focus on work-life balance One-week Christmas closure Extensive outdoor nursery environment Support from an established independent childcare organisation

The West Drayton setting itself is substantial, with registration for up to 200 children, large indoor spaces and extensive outdoor provision. It operates Monday to Friday throughout the year, closing for bank holidays and one week at Christmas.
