You've probably already become the person people come to.
A practitioner needs advice. A parent has a question. The rota needs sorting. Something isn't quite working in a room and you're the one who notices it.
If that sounds familiar, it might be time your job title caught up.
Tiny Tots Recruitment is recruiting a Deputy Nursery Manager in Hayes for an established early years setting caring for children from babies through to preschool.
This isn't a role designed to pull you away from the children. You'll work alongside the Nursery Manager while remaining visible across the setting, supporting practitioners, strengthening practice and helping the nursery run properly from one end of the day to the other.
Where you'll make your mark
You'll be trusted with more than just your own room.
Your role will include:
Supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the setting Stepping into additional leadership responsibility when required Mentoring practitioners and helping less experienced team members develop Supporting staff rotas, room organisation and deployment Keeping standards consistently high across care and education Leading by example when it comes to safeguarding and inclusive practice Supporting planning and delivery across all seven areas of the EYFS Monitoring observations, assessments and children's learning journeys Helping prepare the setting for Ofsted and internal quality checks Building strong relationships with parents and carers Spotting where practice can improve and helping the team make it happen Making sure the nursery remains organised, welcoming and child-focused This could be your next step if...
You're an experienced Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, Third in Charge or Deputy Manager who feels ready to broaden your leadership experience.
You'll need a full and relevant early years qualification, ideally Level 3 or above, alongside strong practical knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and the realities of running a busy nursery.
More than anything, we're looking for someone who can lead without needing to make a performance out of being the leader.
Someone approachable enough that practitioners will ask for help, but confident enough to challenge things when standards aren't where they should be.
Why this setting is worth a look
The nursery is based within secure grounds in Hayes and provides full-day care for children aged three months to five years.
Rather than being squeezed into a small urban site, children have access to large grassed outdoor areas and additional outdoor play space, giving the team plenty of scope for physical play, exploration and learning outside. The setting is open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, for 50 weeks of the year, including a two-week Christmas closure.
There are also strong links with local primary schools, meaning practitioners are able to work closely with the wider education community and support children effectively as they move towards school.
What the employer can genuinely offer
Rather than filling this section with benefits we can't verify, these are the things the employer is actually advertising:
Permanent, full-time employment £35,000 to £38,000 market-positioned salary Supportive and collaborative working environment Ongoing training and CPD Professional development opportunities Career progression Well-resourced early years environment Opportunity to support nursery-wide quality and leadership Secure setting with substantial outdoor provision Two-week nursery closure over Christmas
The employer is currently recruiting leadership staff at both of its full-day Hayes settings and specifically promotes professional development, career progression, ongoing CPD and a collaborative working environment.
For the right person, this could be a very sensible move between leading a single room and ultimately running an entire nursery.
