Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a confident and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join an established early years setting in York.

Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll have a genuine leadership role within the setting. You'll support the team, maintain high standards of practice and help ensure the nursery runs smoothly every day. When the Manager is away, you'll be trusted to take responsibility for the setting and provide clear leadership to the wider team.

The nursery has been part of the York community for many years and combines a welcoming indoor environment with its own outdoor space and easy access to nearby parks and local amenities.

What you'll be doing:

Supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day leadership of the setting Taking responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence Leading by example and promoting consistently high standards of early years practice Supporting Room Leaders and practitioners across the nursery Helping to organise staffing and deployment throughout the day Contributing to staff supervision, mentoring and professional development Monitoring the quality of children's care, learning and experiences Supporting planning and ensuring practice reflects the EYFS Maintaining excellent safeguarding and child protection standards Building positive relationships with parents and carers Supporting children with additional needs and promoting inclusive practice Helping maintain accurate records, policies and regulatory requirements Supporting continuous improvement across the nursery Creating a positive working environment where team members feel supported and valued

What we're looking for:

A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification as a minimum Strong experience within a nursery or early years setting Previous Room Leader, Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager or equivalent leadership experience Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Strong safeguarding knowledge Confidence supervising and supporting other members of staff Good organisational and decision-making skills The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy nursery environment Strong communication skills with children, families and colleagues Someone ambitious enough to take responsibility while remaining approachable and supportive
