Meet Lila and Lucy.
They're rabbits.
And technically, they might become two of your colleagues.
Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Level 2 Nursery Practitioner in Earlsfield to join a nursery where real-life experiences are deliberately built into children's learning.
Children help feed and care for the nursery's two rabbits, Lila and Lucy, learning about animals through actually interacting with them rather than looking at a picture in a book.
It's a small detail, but it tells you quite a lot about the setting.
The garden isn't just somewhere to burn off energy
The outdoor environment is one of the nursery's biggest features.
It has a large landscaped garden divided into different areas for play, investigation and exploration, while plants, flowers and natural habitats are maintained to encourage local wildlife.
Children can move between:
Climbing and physical play Sand and water experiences Natural investigation Wildlife observation Caring for the nursery rabbits Open-ended outdoor learning
There is even a dedicated team responsible for maintaining the garden so it continues to function as a proper learning environment rather than gradually becoming three tyres and a broken mud kitchen.
For a practitioner who enjoys taking children's interests outside, there is plenty here to work with.
Inside feels deliberately calmer
The nursery is set within a converted Victorian building.
Rather than stripping all of its character out, the building has been sensitively renovated while retaining many of its original features.
Natural tones are used throughout to create calmer environments, with five classrooms inside the main building.
Babies are based on the lower floor and toddlers upstairs, giving different ages their own spaces rather than expecting one environment to work for everybody.
Then preschool changes again.
Older children move into a purpose-built preschool cabin within the garden, with resources focused on curiosity, exploration and preparing children for the move to school.
What does being Level 2 mean here?
It means you're a qualified practitioner.
Not an assistant waiting to become useful once you achieve Level 3.
We're looking for somebody holding a full and relevant Level 2 Early Years or Childcare qualification who can contribute properly to the children's day.
You'll be supporting:
High-quality care and education Your key children's individual development Observations and developmental records Activities based around children's interests Children's communication and language Confidence and independence Emotional wellbeing and secure relationships Safe and engaging environments Strong safeguarding practice Positive relationships with parents and carers Collaborative working within the nursery team
The group's current practitioner recruitment specifically expects staff to support children's learning through observations and reports, communicate with families and help create engaging educational experiences.
Some days will have a little extra thrown in
The nursery also welcomes specialist providers into the setting.
Children take part in dance and movement sessions as well as weekly Playball, which develops physical skills, coordination and teamwork.
So your week isn't entirely built around the same nursery timetable.
And because those sessions happen alongside everyday provision, practitioners can use children's experiences afterwards rather than treating them as isolated activities.
What they're offering Salary from £26,520 per year Permanent, full-time position Monday to Friday Childcare benefit Cycle to work scheme Discounted or free food Employee discount Health and wellbeing programme Referral programme Family-run nursery group Distinct age-specific rooms Large landscaped garden Purpose-built preschool provision Specialist dance and sports sessions Opportunities for natural and animal-based learning
The nursery operates Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 6:30pm, throughout the year apart from Christmas week and bank holidays.
Your individual rota would sit within those opening hours.
And it's actually in Earlsfield
The setting is on Magdalen Road, SW18 3NP.
Wandsworth's current Family Information Service describes the location specifically as Earlsfield and lists Earlsfield railway station as the nearest rail connection, alongside the 44, 77 and 270 bus routes.
So I'd rather candidates know where they're actually travelling to than hide it behind a vague "London" location.
If you're looking for a Level 2 Nursery Practitioner job in Earlsfield, Early Years Practitioner role in SW18 or qualified nursery job in Wandsworth, we'd love to hear from you.
