Your qualification actually changes your salary here.
No vague "depending on experience" with no idea what that means.
The employer currently publishes:
Level 2 qualified: £30,139 per year Level 3 qualified: £31,964 per year
Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Level 2 or Level 3 Nursery Practitioner near Tonbridge to join an established nursery and Forest School in Hildenborough.
And this isn't one of those settings that has put a couple of logs in the garden and started calling itself a Forest School.
The nursery sits within extensive parkland and has outdoor learning built properly into its approach. Older children take part in Forest School experiences, while the wider setting encourages children to explore, play independently and spend meaningful time outside.
The building has a bit of history too
The nursery isn't purpose-built in the usual sense.
Its provision operates from converted former stable buildings, with separate environments for younger children and preschool.
The baby provision is deliberately more homely, with small groups and softer spaces for children from three months onwards.
The preschool building takes more of a workshop approach, with resources accessible to children so they can make choices and become increasingly independent in their learning.
That gives the setting a very different feel from a large open-plan nursery divided up with temporary partitions.
This employer clearly has a sense of humour
Their current recruitment advert doesn't read like it was written by somebody in HR who has never stepped inside a nursery.
They're looking for somebody with:
Plenty of personality Creativity Flexibility Imagination A warm approach with children The ability to adapt when the nursery day inevitably changes direction
And, judging by the advert, somebody who accepts that working in early years occasionally involves pretending playdough food tastes delicious and going home with unexplained substances on their clothes.
Which feels pretty accurate.
Underneath the humour, though, they want a practitioner capable of maintaining high standards, supporting colleagues and reflecting on how practice can continually improve.
What you'll actually be responsible for
You'll be expected to:
Provide consistently high-quality care and education Build strong relationships with your key children Observe children's development and plan meaningful next steps Create stimulating play and learning experiences Support children's emotional, social and educational development Encourage independence and curiosity Work closely with parents and carers Maintain excellent safeguarding practice Support trainees, students and less experienced colleagues where appropriate Contribute ideas to improve the nursery environment and practice Make full use of indoor and outdoor learning opportunities Work positively as part of the wider team
The employer's current vacancy is particularly clear that practitioners should be creative and reflective, able to introduce new ideas rather than simply repeating what has always been done.
The working week
For the full-time role, you're looking at:
45 hours per week
Shifts are currently advertised as:
7:30am to 5:30pm or 8:00am to 6:00pm
with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
And importantly:
Monday to Friday. No weekends.
Part-time applications are also being considered by the employer, although for the website I'd keep this particular vacancy page listed as full-time because the annual salaries above are based on the 45-hour contract.
What comes with it? £30,139 per year for Level 2 £31,964 per year for Level 3 Permanent employment Full-time opportunity Part-time may also be considered Monday to Friday No weekends Company pension Free parking On-site parking Health and wellbeing programme Casual dress Forest School provision Extensive outdoor learning environment Opportunity to support trainees and apprentices
The nursery is also actively developing people from the beginning of their early years careers. It has a current 2026 apprenticeship vacancy, with progression to Level 3 or a permanent role specifically mentioned once training is complete.
That tells us development isn't just something they've added to a recruitment page.
And the location?
The nursery is in Hildenborough, near Tonbridge, at Noble Tree Road, TN11.
Kent's current childcare directory lists it as an active nursery and Forest School, open 50 weeks per year, offering both all-year-round and term-time childcare to families.
For the website, I'd still use Tonbridge as the main town because that's the stronger candidate search location, then use Hildenborough naturally within the advert.
If you're looking for a Level 2 Nursery Practitioner job in Tonbridge, Level 3 Early Years Practitioner role in Hildenborough or a qualified nursery job in Kent with genuine Forest School provision, we'd love to hear from you.
