Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join a welcoming independent nursery in Woolwich, South East London.
This is a permanent opportunity working with children aged predominantly between two and five years, within a setting that places strong relationships, learning through play and children's individual development at the centre of its approach.
The nursery has a particularly inclusive and community-focused ethos. Children from all backgrounds are welcomed, with the curriculum encouraging them to learn about different cultures, traditions and the wider world alongside the seven areas of the EYFS. Specialist experiences including music and yoga also form part of nursery life.
What you'll be doing: Acting as a Key Person for a group of children Building a strong understanding of each child's interests, development and individual needs Planning engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS Observing and assessing children's progress Maintaining accurate learning and development records Supporting children's early literacy and numeracy through play Preparing stimulating and inviting learning environments Encouraging children's communication, confidence and independence Supporting positive behaviour and children's emotional development Building strong partnerships with parents and carers Supporting children during meals and everyday nursery routines Working collaboratively with practitioners and Room Leaders Ensuring children with additional needs are fully included Maintaining excellent safeguarding, hygiene and welfare standards Taking part in staff meetings, training and continued professional development What we're looking for: A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification Previous experience within a nursery or early years setting Strong understanding of the EYFS Good safeguarding and child protection knowledge A creative and enthusiastic approach to children's learning Confidence building relationships with parents and carers Strong written and verbal communication skills Someone organised, reliable and able to use their initiative A genuine commitment to inclusive early years practice Paediatric First Aid would be advantageous What's on offer: £29,000 to £31,000 per year Permanent, full-time employment Monday to Friday working Supportive independent nursery environment Ongoing training and professional development Established on-site leadership team Opportunity to work within an inclusive and culturally rich setting Play-based approach to children's learning Specialist activities including music and yoga Strong focus on individual children's development Nursery operating 48 weeks of the year
The nursery's approach is slightly different from many larger settings. Alongside the EYFS, children are given opportunities to understand different cultures and traditions, helping to create an environment where difference is recognised and celebrated.
Its most recent Ofsted inspection found that children thrive in a safe and welcoming environment, form excellent relationships with practitioners and are motivated to learn. Inspectors also highlighted the team's ability to identify children's individual needs and the support provided to staff for continued professional development.
