Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join a friendly nursery in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
This is a permanent opportunity offering 30+ hours per week within an established, community-focused setting where children are encouraged to learn through play, curiosity and creativity.
The nursery has a close-knit qualified team and places strong emphasis on creating an environment where children can make choices, build independence and develop confidence at their own pace.
Its most recent Ofsted inspection rated the setting Good across every area, including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management. Inspectors described children as happy and independent learners and highlighted the positive relationships between staff, children and families.
What you'll be doing:
Providing warm, responsive and high-quality care for young children Supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS Creating enjoyable activities that encourage curiosity and exploration Taking responsibility for key children and getting to know their individual needs Observing children's progress and planning appropriate next steps Supporting children's speech, language and communication Encouraging independence through everyday routines and play Creating opportunities for children to make their own choices Building trusting relationships with parents and carers Supporting children's physical, social and emotional development Creating stimulating indoor and outdoor experiences Working collaboratively within a small early years team Maintaining strong safeguarding, welfare and health and safety standards Contributing ideas and taking an active role in the continued development of the nursery
What we're looking for:
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification, or above Previous experience working within a nursery or early years environment Good working knowledge of the EYFS Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection A patient, nurturing and positive approach Confidence building relationships with children and families Good communication and teamwork skills Someone who enjoys supporting child-led and play-based learning A practitioner who wants to continue developing their early years knowledge

Children are encouraged to make independent choices throughout the day, with staff using conversation, stories, practical experiences and play to extend their learning. Activities noted by Ofsted range from cooking food inspired by different countries to yoga, outdoor exploration and regular walks within the local community.
