Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join a modern early years setting in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Based in the Bricket Wood area, the nursery has three spacious, light-filled rooms, each opening directly onto extensive gardens. Natural resources, planting and outdoor learning are woven throughout the environment, creating a calm space where children are encouraged to explore rather than simply move from one planned activity to another.

You'll work closely with your Room Leader and wider team to give babies, toddlers and preschool children the strongest possible start, while having plenty of opportunity to develop your own skills and progress your career.

What you'll be doing: Providing warm, attentive and high-quality care throughout the nursery day Supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS Taking responsibility for a group of key children Observing children's progress and identifying meaningful next steps Creating engaging experiences around children's interests and individual development Encouraging children to become confident communicators and independent learners Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and helping them build secure relationships Making full use of the nursery's extensive outdoor environment Creating inviting spaces that encourage investigation and imaginative play Building positive partnerships with parents and carers Supporting children's individual routines, dietary requirements and care needs Working collaboratively with Room Leaders and fellow practitioners Promoting equality, inclusion and respect Maintaining excellent safeguarding, welfare and health and safety standards Taking an active role in training and professional development What we're looking for: A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification At least one year of experience within a nursery or early years environment would be ideal Strong practical knowledge of the EYFS Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection A nurturing and enthusiastic approach to working with children Confidence communicating with parents, carers and colleagues Someone who enjoys working collaboratively within a nursery team Good organisation and initiative A practitioner who wants to continue learning and developing professionally What's on offer: £28,500 to £32,500 per year Permanent, full-time employment Annual salary review 28 days annual leave including bank holidays Nursery closed for one week between Christmas and New Year Additional day off for your birthday Company pension Discounted childcare for staff children Free DBS check Free uniform Free dedicated parking Refer a Friend scheme Monthly staff recognition awards Loyalty bonus scheme for length of service Dedicated staff room with kitchen facilities Training programmes and continued professional development Company social events Team-building activities Staff wellbeing events
