Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join an established nursery and preschool in Wantage, Oxfordshire.
The nursery takes a personal approach to children's development. Each child has their own Key Person who gets to know their routines, interests and personality, then uses that understanding to create experiences that help them learn and grow with confidence.
The setting caters for babies through to preschool children and offers bright age-specific rooms, a large garden and an all-weather indoor play space. Children are given plenty of opportunity to explore, discover and learn through active and creative play both indoors and outside.
What you'll be doing: Providing high-quality care and early education for young children Acting as a Key Person and building secure relationships with your key children Supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS Observing children's play, interests and developmental progress Planning engaging activities around individual children's needs Encouraging children's confidence, resilience and independence Supporting speech, language and social development through everyday interaction Creating stimulating indoor and outdoor learning opportunities Helping children learn through active, creative and imaginative play Supporting children's individual routines and emotional wellbeing Building positive relationships with parents and carers Working collaboratively with practitioners and senior colleagues Promoting inclusive practice and recognising children as individuals Maintaining excellent safeguarding, welfare and health and safety standards Taking an active role in training and continued professional development What we're looking for: A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification Previous experience within a nursery or early years setting Good working knowledge of the EYFS Strong safeguarding awareness A caring and enthusiastic approach to working with young children Confidence building relationships with children and families Good communication and teamwork skills Someone creative, patient and able to use their initiative A practitioner who wants to continue learning and developing professionally What's on offer: £28,000 to £30,000 per year Permanent, full-time employment Monday to Friday working Childcare discount Company pension Free uniform Free DBS check Employee support programme Free on-site parking Christmas closure Ongoing training and professional development Opportunities to progress through further early years qualifications Support from an established nursery leadership team Large and varied nursery garden All-weather indoor play facilities
The nursery has a particularly strong focus on independence as children move towards preschool age. Children are encouraged to make choices, develop friendships, serve themselves at mealtimes and gradually build the confidence and resilience they will need for school.
There is also evidence of genuine development opportunities within the organisation. The employer is currently recruiting Early Years apprentices at Wantage with progression available through qualifications from Level 2 up to Level 5.
