Nursery Practitioner

Level 3 Nursery Practitioner

Andover, South East full time Permanent

£27,040 to £31,200 per year

Qualified Level 3 but don't want a standard five-day nursery week? This Early Years Practitioner job in Andover offers £13 to £15 per hour, with full-day working patterns from one to four days per week and term-time options available. Join a newly opened preschool with brand-new resources, calm learning spaces and the chance to grow with the setting.

Full days. Fewer days.

There's more than one way to work full-time in early years.

This Level 3 Nursery Practitioner job in Andover is particularly interesting because the nursery is looking for practitioners who can work full days from 8am to 6pm, but offers flexibility across one to four days per week.

Term-time positions may also be available.

For somebody who would rather work longer days and have more complete days away from nursery, that's a very different proposition from five shorter shifts every week.

And you'd be joining near the beginning

The setting only registered with Ofsted in October 2025, so it's still relatively new.

That means brand-new resources, thoughtfully designed spaces and a team that's continuing to develop as the nursery grows.

The employer describes the environment as:

Newly designed and well equipped Calm and thoughtfully organised Creative and child led Supportive for both children and staff Still growing

So this isn't somewhere you're expected to squeeze yourself into ten years of "we've always done it this way".

There's still an opportunity to contribute ideas and influence how the provision develops.

What you'll actually be doing

We're looking for somebody who understands that being Level 3 qualified means taking proper responsibility for children's experiences.

You'll be:

Building secure relationships with your key children Planning around children's interests and development Completing meaningful observations and assessments Supporting communication, independence and confidence Creating engaging play opportunities Working closely with parents and carers Supporting children's emotional wellbeing Maintaining excellent safeguarding practice Helping maintain calm and stimulating learning environments Working collaboratively with the rest of the team Bringing ideas rather than simply following instructions Supporting the setting as it continues to grow

The nursery specifically wants somebody with a warm, positive and professional approach, alongside strong teamwork and communication skills.

You'll need the qualification

This particular vacancy requires a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification.

You'll also ideally bring:

Previous nursery experience Good EYFS knowledge Strong safeguarding awareness Reliability Confidence communicating with families A genuine interest in child-led learning

This isn't being advertised as an unqualified or apprenticeship position.

They're looking for somebody who can come into the team as a qualified practitioner and contribute from the beginning.

For somebody returning to early years, balancing childcare of their own or simply wanting fewer journeys to and from work each week, that could make this role far more practical.
