A nursery job that gives you your evenings, weekends and school holidays back.
Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join an established early years setting in Scarborough.
This is a permanent, term-time position working 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, making it a particularly attractive opportunity for a qualified practitioner who wants to remain in early years without committing to the longer working days often associated with private nurseries.
The setting places a strong emphasis on learning through play and uses In The Moment Planning, encouraging practitioners to notice what children are interested in and adapt activities, resources and environments around those interests. Rather than planning weeks of identical activities in advance, the team is expected to respond to the children in front of them.
What you'll be doing:
Providing high-quality care and early education for children Supporting children's learning and development through play Using children's interests to create meaningful learning opportunities Working in line with the EYFS Taking responsibility for a group of key children Completing observations and identifying appropriate next steps Encouraging children's communication, confidence and independence Building strong and trusting relationships with parents and carers Creating engaging and stimulating learning environments Supporting children with individual and additional needs Working collaboratively with other qualified practitioners Promoting equality, inclusion and respect Maintaining excellent safeguarding, welfare and health and safety standards Taking an active role in ongoing training and professional development
What we're looking for:
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification Previous experience working with young children A good practical understanding of the EYFS Strong safeguarding awareness Someone confident using child-led approaches to learning A warm, caring and enthusiastic personality Good communication skills with children, families and colleagues An inclusive approach to supporting children's individual needs Reliability and the ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team
What's on offer:
Approximately £14,490 to £14,820 per year based on term-time hours Equivalent to £12.71 to £13.00 per hour Permanent, part-time employment Monday to Friday working 9:00am to 3:00pm Term-time only Childcare benefits Employee discount Company pension Health and wellbeing programme Cycle to Work scheme Referral programme Free parking Ongoing formal training Continued professional development Strong support around safeguarding and inclusive practice
The nursery invests heavily in staff development, including formal training and additional training linked directly to the needs and interests of the children within the setting. The team also refreshes safeguarding training annually, rather than simply waiting for the standard three-year renewal period.
There is a strong focus on inclusion too, with specialist SEND leadership available and an emphasis on working with families, local authorities and external organisations when children need additional support.
For a Level 3 practitioner who loves early years but wants a working pattern that leaves room for life outside the nursery, this is a rare combination of school-friendly hours and permanent employment.
