There is something to be said for joining a nursery where people actually stay.
Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join a well-established early years setting in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire.
The nursery has built a particularly experienced team, with several employees having worked within the setting for many years. Staff development is taken seriously, with formal training complemented by additional learning linked to the interests and individual needs of the children currently attending.
Rather than relying heavily on pre-planned activities, the nursery uses In The Moment Planning. Practitioners are encouraged to notice what children are fascinated by and adapt resources, environments and experiences while that interest is happening.
It means you'll need to be observant, creative and confident enough to follow the children's lead.
What you'll be doing:
Providing high-quality care and early education for children from birth to five Working in line with the EYFS and the nursery's child-led approach Using In The Moment Planning to respond to children's current interests Supporting a group of key children and getting to know their individual development Creating new learning opportunities from children's play and conversations Completing observations and recognising meaningful next steps Encouraging children's imagination, communication and independence Building warm and professional relationships with parents and carers Helping children feel secure, confident and valued within the nursery Creating interesting and inviting play environments Supporting children with additional needs through inclusive practice Working closely with Room Leaders and the wider nursery team Maintaining excellent safeguarding, health and safety and welfare standards Taking part in ongoing training and professional development
What we're looking for:
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification Previous experience within a nursery or early years environment Good working knowledge of the EYFS Strong safeguarding awareness A genuine interest in child-led learning Someone observant enough to recognise learning opportunities as they happen A warm, approachable and nurturing personality Good communication skills with children, families and colleagues A reliable and professional approach Someone who wants to become part of a nursery team rather than simply find their next short-term role
What's on offer:
£26,437 to £28,080 per year Permanent, full-time employment Childcare benefits Employee discount Company pension Free parking Referral programme Company events Formal training and ongoing professional development Additional training tailored around children's individual needs Experienced and long-standing nursery team Strong support around SEND and inclusive practice Annual safeguarding refresher training Opportunities to develop within a wider nursery group
The nursery describes itself as having a home-from-home environment, but there is plenty of substance behind that phrase. It has a long-serving leadership team, a dedicated Deputy Manager, Group EYFS Lead and Group SENDCo support, while all staff are First Aid trained. Safeguarding training is refreshed annually rather than simply at the minimum three-year interval.
The setting is also rated Good by Ofsted, with Good judgements across quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management. It provides year-round childcare from 7:30am to 6:00pm.
