Imagine being a Nursery Manager and actually having time to manage the nursery.
Not spending half your week processing invoices.
Not chasing payroll.
Not disappearing into an office because another spreadsheet needs finishing.
Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for an experienced Nursery Manager in Hornchurch for a recently refurbished, modern early years setting.
And one of the biggest selling points is surprisingly simple.
They want their Manager focused on leadership, quality and children.
The employer provides dedicated administrative support on site, so the Nursery Manager is specifically not responsible for day-to-day admin, invoices, accounts, financial processing or payroll administration.
For an experienced Manager who loves leading people but has become increasingly buried under back-office tasks, that could make a substantial difference to the working day.
So what do they actually want you concentrating on?
Your team.
The children.
The quality of the nursery.
You'll take responsibility for:
Leading, motivating and developing the staff team Creating a positive and professional nursery culture Role-modelling excellent interactions with children Maintaining outstanding standards of care and education Taking overall responsibility for safeguarding Overseeing the smooth day-to-day running of the setting Supporting staff supervision, training and wellbeing Ensuring practice meets EYFS requirements Keeping the setting fully compliant with Ofsted expectations Building strong relationships with parents and carers Driving continuous improvement Looking critically at what is working and what could be better Supporting practitioners to strengthen their own practice Keeping children's outcomes at the centre of decision-making
That's the management job.
The paperwork that doesn't need your early years expertise can sit somewhere else.
What kind of Manager are they looking for?
This isn't intended as someone's first taste of leadership.
The employer is specifically seeking a proven Nursery Manager who already understands the realities of running a setting and can confidently take ownership.
You'll need:
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification as a minimum Level 5 or Level 6 would be desirable At least two years' post-qualification early years experience Previous Nursery Manager experience Strong knowledge of the EYFS Excellent safeguarding knowledge Confidence around Ofsted requirements Experience leading and motivating teams Good organisational ability The confidence to challenge practice where necessary A genuine interest in developing staff rather than simply managing rotas
The current employer specification is particularly clear that they want somebody able to drive positive change and improve outcomes for children, rather than a Manager whose role is simply to maintain what already exists.
A fresh environment without joining a brand-new company
There's a nice balance here.
The Hornchurch nursery has been serving local families for more than 20 years, but the employer has also invested in a fully refurbished, air-conditioned setting.
So you're getting a modern working environment without the uncertainty of joining an organisation that's only just appeared.
The wider nursery organisation is a privately owned family company established in 1996, now operating four settings across the local area. Its senior management team includes experienced graduates who support standards across the nurseries.
The educational approach is child-centred and play-based, with practitioners encouraged to build learning around children's interests and individual needs. The group also places a strong emphasis on inclusion and working closely with families.
What you'll get £35,000 to £45,000 per year Permanent, full-time position Company pension Free parking On-site parking Recently refurbished nursery Air conditioning throughout Dedicated administrative support No payroll responsibility No invoice or financial processing responsibility Supportive senior leadership structure Ongoing professional development Opportunity to influence and improve the setting Established local nursery organisation Nursery within walking distance of Hornchurch and Elm Park stations
The nursery operates between 7:30am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday, and its Suttons Avenue location is within walking distance of both Hornchurch and Elm Park Underground stations, with several major bus routes nearby.
This could particularly suit a Manager who still loves early years leadership but is fed up with their role gradually becoming a finance and administration job.
