A Nursery Manager package approaching £50,000.
That's where we'll start.
Tiny Tots Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Nursery Manager in Surbiton for an established nursery just a few minutes' walk from Surbiton Station.
The salary is £39,920 to £49,920 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, with regular pay reviews and a £1,000 welcome bonus.
And the employment package goes considerably further than salary.
What comes with the role?
The current package includes:
£39,920 to £49,920 per year £1,000 welcome bonus 33 days' annual leave including bank holidays Christmas and New Year shutdown Flexible working options Significant childcare discount £500 employee referral bonus Employer-contribution pension Statutory Sick Pay from day one Life assurance Additional wellbeing day Enhanced maternity and adoption leave Enhanced paternity leave Paid parental bereavement leave Paid compassionate leave Paid miscarriage leave Healthcare cashback including dental and physiotherapy 24-hour remote GP appointments Retail, supermarket, cinema and gym discounts In-house leadership training and career progression
There's also Grand Event leave, which can provide up to an additional week of annual leave for a significant life event after two years' service.
That's one of the stronger Nursery Manager packages we've come across.
What are you actually taking responsibility for?
The whole nursery.
You'll be responsible for the quality of children's experiences, your team, occupancy, compliance and the commercial and operational side of running the setting.
That includes:
Leading and developing the nursery team Recruiting, inducting and appraising staff Supporting Room Leaders and practitioners Ensuring appropriate staff deployment Maintaining high standards across nursery rooms Overseeing children's records and nursery administration Ensuring compliance with the EYFS Preparing confidently for regulatory inspections Implementing any recommendations from regulatory bodies Maintaining suitable First Aid coverage Monitoring the Key Person system Building strong relationships with parents and carers Delivering occupancy targets Promoting the nursery within the local community Maintaining a positive and professional team culture
This is a role for somebody who can balance people, quality and performance.
A nursery can have beautiful rooms and excellent resources, but if the team isn't supported properly, standards won't stay high.
And there is plenty here to lead
The nursery is based in a renovated barn on Claremont Road, around five minutes from Surbiton Station.
Children have access to a free-flow garden and outdoor provision alongside:
Forest School Including den building, nature exploration and wildlife experiences.
Growing and gardening Children are involved in tending plants and learning about the natural environment.
Sports and physical development
Languages
Yoga
A dedicated library
Specialist educational programmes covering movement, cooking, investigation, health and growing.
There's also an on-site chef preparing fresh meals each day.
So you're managing a nursery with quite a bit happening beyond standard room provision.
The nursery is rated Good
The setting's latest Ofsted inspection rated it Good overall and Good in every judgement area, including quality of education and leadership and management.
The inspection highlighted children's physical wellbeing, Forest School experiences, strong relationships with parents and regular staff coaching and supervision.
That gives the incoming Manager something solid to build from.
You're not being recruited into a setting where everything needs rebuilding from day one.
Who are we looking for?
You'll need strong nursery leadership experience and a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
This could suit an established Nursery Manager who wants:
A larger organisation behind them Better progression opportunities A stronger salary ceiling A substantial benefits package Leadership development beyond their own nursery A well-connected London location
A very experienced Deputy Manager may also be worth discussing if you've already had significant responsibility for nursery operations and are ready for full accountability.
Grandir UK runs specific leadership-development programmes, including its six-month LEAP programme for Deputy Managers, Nursery Managers and support-office leaders.
So there is somewhere for your career to go after you get the Manager title too.
