Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to lead an established early years setting in York.
This is a permanent leadership opportunity within a nursery that has been caring for local families for many years. The setting offers a warm and stimulating environment, its own well-equipped outdoor space and excellent access to nearby parks and community facilities, giving children plenty of opportunities to learn beyond the nursery walls.
You'll have responsibility for the overall quality and day-to-day operation of the nursery, leading an experienced team while ensuring children receive consistently high standards of care, learning and support.
What you'll be doing:
Providing confident and visible leadership across the nursery Supporting, motivating and developing the early years team Maintaining high standards of childcare, education and safeguarding Ensuring the nursery operates effectively in line with the EYFS and Ofsted requirements Monitoring the quality of teaching, learning and children's experiences Leading staff supervision, development and performance conversations Supporting recruitment, induction and retention of nursery employees Ensuring staffing and deployment meet the needs of children throughout the day Building trusted relationships with parents, carers and the local community Supporting children with additional needs and promoting inclusive practice Overseeing safeguarding, health and safety, policies and regulatory compliance Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across the setting Helping create a positive culture where employees feel supported and able to develop Working collaboratively with senior colleagues across the wider organisation
What we're looking for:
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification as a minimum Previous leadership or management experience within an early years setting Strong knowledge of the EYFS Excellent safeguarding knowledge Experience leading, supporting and developing a nursery team Confidence managing the operational requirements of a busy setting Strong communication and organisational skills A positive approach to quality improvement The ability to build effective relationships with children, families and colleagues A genuine commitment to inclusive early years practice
