Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for an experienced Nursery Room Leader to join a well-established nursery in Taunton.
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your room, supporting both the children and the practitioners around you while making sure high standards are maintained throughout the day.
This is a great opportunity for an existing Room Leader, or an experienced Level 3 practitioner who is already taking on additional responsibilities and feels ready to make that next step official.

You’ll be trusted to create a positive environment where both children and staff can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and supporting practitioners within your room Organising the room effectively throughout the nursery day Deploying staff appropriately and maintaining ratios Promoting consistently high standards of care and education Supporting the effective implementation of the EYFS Allocating and overseeing key-person responsibilities Monitoring observations, planning and children’s progress Coaching and developing less experienced practitioners Building strong relationships with parents and carers Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times Supporting children’s individual routines and developmental needs Working closely with the wider nursery management team Plenty to work with
This isn’t a setting where everything has to happen inside one playroom.
The nursery has eight bright rooms and three separate garden spaces, giving teams plenty of scope to change up the children’s learning experiences.
There is also a dedicated Forest School practitioner, alongside activities including:
Forest School and outdoor exploration Mud kitchens and vegetable growing Cooking and food activities Sing and Sign Boogie Mites Yoga and movement Community outings Sensory and investigative play
The nursery also has an experienced SENCo and an on-site chef.
Who we're looking for
You’ll need a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
Ideally, you’ll already have experience leading others within an early years setting, although strong senior practitioners ready for progression will also be considered.
You should be someone who can:
Lead confidently without micromanaging Keep standards high even on busy days Support and motivate your colleagues Communicate professionally with families Understand the EYFS and safeguarding requirements Spot where practitioners may need extra support or development Create a calm and organised environment for children Salary
£27,664 to £29,536 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Regular pay reviews are also available.

Location
The nursery is based on Blackbrook Business Park in Taunton, with easy access to the M5 and ample on-site parking.
Its most recent Ofsted inspection in March 2026 found the nursery to be operating at the Expected standard overall, with a Strong standard for behaviour, attitudes and establishing routines.
