Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for an experienced Nursery Room Leader to join an established nursery and Forest School in Horsforth, Leeds.
The setting takes a genuinely different approach to early years education. Outdoor play, creativity and child-centred learning sit at the heart of its practice, drawing inspiration from both Reggio Emilia and Scandinavian Forest School principles.
As Room Leader, you'll have the opportunity to shape your environment alongside the children and your team. You'll lead practitioners, maintain excellent standards and make sure children's individual interests are reflected in the experiences available to them.
The Horsforth nursery itself offers some exceptional outdoor resources, including a nature reserve, yurt, outdoor classroom, art studio and fire pit, with woodland only a short walk away.
What you'll be doing:
Leading the day-to-day running of your nursery room Supporting, mentoring and motivating practitioners within your team Creating a positive environment where children feel confident to explore and make choices Planning experiences around children's interests, questions and emerging development Ensuring high-quality practice in line with the EYFS Overseeing observations, assessments and appropriate next steps Encouraging meaningful outdoor learning throughout the year Supporting practitioners to develop their own knowledge and confidence Building strong partnerships with parents and carers Promoting children's independence, creativity and problem-solving skills Ensuring inclusive practice across the room Maintaining excellent safeguarding, welfare and health and safety standards Working closely with nursery management and other Room Leaders Contributing ideas to the wider development of the setting
What we're looking for:
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification Strong nursery or early years experience Previous Room Leader, Deputy Room Leader or Senior Practitioner experience A confident understanding of the EYFS Excellent safeguarding knowledge The ability to lead and support a team positively Strong communication and organisational skills A genuine interest in child-led and outdoor learning Someone comfortable embracing creativity rather than relying on rigid routines An enthusiasm for continuing their own professional development
