Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for an experienced Nursery Room Leader to join a friendly early years setting in New Malden, South West London.
This is a permanent leadership opportunity for a Level 3 qualified practitioner who is ready to take ownership of a room, support the practitioners around them and maintain consistently high standards for children and families.
The nursery is a smaller setting with a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing and work-life balance. It is open for 50 weeks of the year, giving staff guaranteed closure time during the summer and between Christmas and New Year.
What you'll be doing: Taking responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of your nursery room Leading, supporting and motivating practitioners within the team Creating a calm, welcoming and stimulating environment for children Ensuring high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS Supporting planning around children's interests and developmental needs Overseeing observations, assessments and children's next steps Acting as a positive role model for less experienced practitioners Supporting staff development and sharing good early years practice Building strong and professional relationships with parents and carers Ensuring children's individual routines and needs are understood Promoting children's confidence, independence and communication Supporting inclusive practice throughout the room Maintaining excellent safeguarding and child protection standards Working closely with nursery management to maintain quality across the setting Contributing ideas to the continued development of the nursery What we're looking for: A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification as a minimum Previous experience within a nursery or early years setting Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or similar leadership experience Strong working knowledge of the EYFS Good understanding of child development from birth to five Excellent safeguarding awareness Confidence guiding and supporting other practitioners Strong communication and organisational skills A calm, caring and dependable approach Someone comfortable using their initiative and taking responsibility Good ICT literacy, with training provided on the nursery's systems What's on offer: £30,000 to £32,000 per year Permanent, full-time employment Guaranteed week away from work during the summer closure period Christmas and New Year closure Additional day of annual leave for your birthday Staff Member of the Month recognition programme Ongoing CPD training Opportunities to further your early years qualifications Mentoring and support from nursery management Strong emphasis on staff wellbeing and work-life balance Small and friendly nursery team Good-rated early years setting
