Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for an experienced Nursery Room Leader to join a modern early years setting in the St Albans area of Hertfordshire.
Opened in 2023, the nursery has been purposefully designed around the needs of young children. Three large, light-filled nursery rooms each have direct access to extensive gardens, allowing indoor and outdoor learning to flow naturally throughout the day.
The setting has a clear ambition to create memorable childhood experiences rather than simply provide childcare. As Room Leader, you will have an important role in turning that ambition into excellent everyday practice.
What you'll be doing: Leading the day-to-day running of your nursery room Supporting, motivating and developing the practitioners within your team Creating a calm, welcoming and inspiring environment for children Ensuring consistently high standards of care and education Supporting children's development in line with the EYFS Planning experiences around children's interests, abilities and individual needs Overseeing observations, assessments and appropriate next steps Helping practitioners strengthen their confidence and professional practice Building trusting relationships with parents and carers Encouraging children's independence, communication and curiosity Making excellent use of the nursery's extensive outdoor environment Ensuring effective staffing and organisation within the room Promoting inclusive practice and supporting children as individuals Maintaining excellent safeguarding, welfare and health and safety standards Working closely with nursery management to continually strengthen quality across the setting What we're looking for: A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification as a minimum Strong experience within a nursery or early years environment Previous Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or comparable leadership experience Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS Strong safeguarding knowledge Confidence leading and supporting other early years professionals Good organisational and communication skills A positive and reflective approach to leadership Someone who can maintain high standards without losing the warmth and enjoyment children need from their nursery day A genuine desire to continue learning and developing professionally What's on offer: £34,000 to £36,000 per year Permanent, full-time employment Annual salary review 28 days annual leave including bank holidays Nursery closed for one week between Christmas and New Year Additional day off for your birthday Company pension Discounted childcare for staff Free DBS check Free uniform Free dedicated parking Refer a Friend scheme Monthly staff recognition awards Loyalty bonus scheme for length of service Dedicated staff room with kitchen facilities Training programmes and ongoing professional development Career progression opportunities Company socials and team-building events Staff wellbeing events
