Tiny Tots Recruitment is recruiting for a Nursery Room Leader to join an established early years setting in York.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced Level 3 practitioner who is ready to take ownership of a room, support the team around them and help create an environment where children feel secure, confident and excited to learn.
The nursery has been part of the local community for many years and benefits from its own outdoor space as well as easy access to nearby parks and local amenities. Children are encouraged to explore beyond the nursery environment, with regular opportunities to engage with the wider community.
What you'll be doing:
Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of your nursery room Leading, supporting and motivating practitioners within the room Ensuring children receive consistently high standards of care and education Planning engaging learning experiences around children's interests and developmental needs Monitoring observations, assessments and children's next steps Supporting colleagues with their confidence, knowledge and professional development Maintaining an organised, stimulating and welcoming learning environment Building strong relationships with parents and carers Supporting children with additional needs and promoting inclusive practice Ensuring safeguarding procedures are understood and followed by the whole room team Supporting effective staff deployment and daily routines Working closely with nursery management to maintain high standards across the setting Contributing ideas and supporting continuous improvement Leading by example in everything from interactions with children to communication with families
What we're looking for:
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification as a minimum Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting Room Leader, Deputy Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or equivalent experience would be ideal Strong practical knowledge of the EYFS Excellent safeguarding knowledge Confidence supporting and guiding other practitioners Strong communication and organisational skills A warm and approachable leadership style Someone who can maintain standards while keeping children's experiences at the centre of the room A genuine interest in continuing to develop professionally
