Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Playworker to join an established out-of-school childcare setting in York.
Working primarily with school-aged children, you'll help create a safe and welcoming environment where children can unwind, socialise and choose how they spend their time outside school.
The setting provides wraparound and holiday childcare, so activities can range from arts and crafts and outdoor games to sports, imaginative play, quieter activities and special holiday experiences.
This is a role where personality matters. We're looking for someone who can get involved, build relationships with children and bring plenty of positive energy to the team.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting children during breakfast, after-school and holiday club sessions Helping prepare varied games, activities and creative experiences Encouraging children to make choices and follow their own interests Supporting indoor and outdoor play Making sure children feel safe, included and listened to Building positive relationships with children and families Helping supervise children across different activities and age groups Supporting trips, themed days and holiday activities Preparing and tidying activity spaces Promoting positive behaviour and respectful relationships Working closely with other Playworkers and senior colleagues Following safeguarding, health and safety and childcare procedures Helping create the relaxed atmosphere children need at the end of their school day
What we're looking for:
Experience working with children would be beneficial Previous nursery, school, holiday club, playwork, sports coaching or childcare experience would all be relevant A warm and approachable personality Plenty of energy and enthusiasm Good communication skills Someone reliable who works well as part of a team Confidence engaging with groups of school-aged children An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities Someone who genuinely enjoys getting involved rather than watching from the sidelines
