Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Pre-School Room Leader to lead this important stage within an established private day nursery in Harrow.
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the pre-school room, supporting your team to create an environment where children are encouraged to become confident, curious and increasingly independent.
What you'll be responsible for Leading the daily running of the pre-school room Supporting, guiding and motivating practitioners within your team Ensuring children receive high-quality learning and care Planning engaging activities in line with the EYFS Supporting children’s school readiness Monitoring observations and developmental progress Maintaining effective key-person practice Creating a stimulating and well-organised room environment Building positive relationships with parents and carers Supporting transitions into school Ensuring safeguarding and welfare requirements are consistently met Working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider leadership team Helping less experienced practitioners develop their confidence and practice The pre-school environment
The nursery has dedicated rooms designed around each stage of children’s development, with children progressing through the setting as they grow.
The pre-school room provides children with opportunities including:
Early writing and pencil control Maths and number activities Science and investigation Arts and crafts Construction Role play Music Sand and water play Storytelling and books Outdoor learning
The focus is on helping children become happy, confident, curious and ready for school.
Who we're looking for
You’ll need a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
Previous pre-school experience would be particularly valuable, although we’re also happy to consider a strong Level 3 Nursery Practitioner or Senior Practitioner who has the right experience and is ready to take the next step into room leadership.
You should have:
A strong understanding of the EYFS Good safeguarding knowledge Confidence supporting other practitioners Experience planning activities around children’s development Strong communication skills A good understanding of school readiness The ability to build positive relationships with families A calm, organised and supportive leadership style Salary
Up to £35,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
The nursery
The setting is a purpose-built private day nursery in Harrow, located within the grounds of a local secondary school.
It provides care and education for babies and children from 3 months to 5 years, with dedicated age-appropriate rooms and an outdoor play area.
The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and provides freshly prepared meals on site.
