Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join a friendly early years setting in Thursley, near Godalming, Surrey.
The nursery provides a genuine home-from-home environment for children from six months to five years, with bright indoor spaces and a large secure grassed garden that encourages children to spend as much time outside as possible.
What makes the setting particularly different is its Woodland School provision. Thursley Common is just behind the nursery and children regularly visit in small groups to explore, climb, build dens, investigate natural materials and take age-appropriate risks in the outdoors.
What you'll be doing: Providing warm, consistent and high-quality care for young children Supporting children's learning and development through the EYFS Acting as a Key Person and developing secure relationships with individual children Observing children's interests, development and individual needs Using observations to create meaningful learning opportunities Planning engaging activities across all areas of learning Encouraging children's curiosity, creativity and independence Making regular use of the nursery's outdoor environment Supporting Woodland School and nature-based experiences Helping children develop confidence through safe challenge and exploration Supporting babies and younger children with individual routines Building positive relationships with parents and carers Recording children's learning and development Working collaboratively with colleagues across the nursery Maintaining excellent safeguarding and welfare standards What we're looking for: A full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification Previous experience within a nursery or early years setting Good practical understanding of the EYFS Strong safeguarding awareness A caring and nurturing approach Someone who enjoys being outdoors and getting involved in children's play Confidence communicating with parents and colleagues Good teamwork and organisational skills Someone who recognises children as individuals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach A practitioner who wants to become part of an established nursery team What's on offer: £28,000 to £30,000 per year Permanent, full-time employment Monday to Friday nursery environment Nursery closure over Christmas and bank holidays Large secure grassed outdoor area Woodland School experiences Regular access to Thursley Common Opportunity to work with children from six months to five years Established Key Person approach Small-group outdoor experiences Experienced and qualified nursery team Opportunities to develop your early years knowledge through ongoing CPD
This is a relatively intimate setting, registered for 45 children, with a current team of around 16 childcare staff. The nursery is open all year and operates Monday to Friday, with closure over Christmas and bank holidays.
The setting's approach is built around children being treated as individuals. It places particular emphasis on nurturing relationships, children's natural curiosity and close partnerships with families, with the Key Person system used to help each practitioner understand their children's individual needs.
There is plenty of experience within the existing team too, including practitioners with Level 3 qualifications, an Early Years Teacher and senior practitioners with extensive childcare experience and additional safeguarding, First Aid and CPD training.
