Nursery Practitioner

Qualified Nursery Practitioner

Surbiton, London full time Permanent

£26,437 to £30,410 per year

An Outstanding nursery doesn't need another pair of hands. It needs practitioners who care about doing the job properly. This Qualified Nursery Practitioner role in Surbiton offers £26,437 to £30,410 plus a £1,000 welcome bonus, 33 days' annual leave, Christmas and New Year shutdown, flexible working options and a clear progression route when you're ready for more.

Maybe you're not looking for a promotion. You just want a nursery that's properly run.

A supportive team.

Experienced leadership.

Good resources.

Children who are given meaningful opportunities to explore.

And a salary package that recognises you're a qualified early years professional.

Tiny Tots Recruitment is looking for a Qualified Nursery Practitioner in Surbiton to join an established Outstanding-rated nursery on Maple Road.

The setting supports children from babies through to preschool and is part of a larger early years organisation, giving you the combination of an established local nursery and the development opportunities of a wider group.

Your job is still about the children

You'll be responsible for providing consistently good early years practice every day.

That means:

Building secure relationships with your key children Supporting learning and development through the EYFS Observing children and identifying meaningful next steps Planning around children's interests Creating engaging indoor and outdoor experiences Supporting communication, confidence and independence Maintaining accurate developmental records Building positive relationships with parents and carers Supporting children's emotional and physical wellbeing Maintaining excellent safeguarding practice Working collaboratively with Room Leaders and other practitioners Continuing to develop your own knowledge and practice

The employer is looking for somebody caring and enthusiastic who can support children's curiosity and help them thrive, rather than somebody simply there to get through the nursery day.

Outdoor space is properly part of the nursery

Children have access to substantial outdoor provision, including growing areas and opportunities for physical play and nature exploration.

The wider nursery approach includes gardening, outdoor discovery, yoga and PE, while quieter spaces are also deliberately provided for children who need time away from busier group activity.

The setting is also currently rated Outstanding, giving you the opportunity to join a nursery where strong standards are already established rather than being recruited to fix poor practice.

And there's somewhere to go when you're ready

One of the useful things about joining this particular nursery is being able to see the structure above you.

The setting has Room Leaders, Third in Charge and Deputy Manager positions within its leadership structure.

So you don't need to leave the nursery simply because, six months or two years from now, you decide you want more responsibility.

For now, you can concentrate on becoming an excellent practitioner.

When you're ready for the next step, there is a route towards it.
