Early Years Teacher Status is not the same as QTS. EYTS specialises in birth to five; QTS covers school age. Either lets a setting operate the 1:13 ratio for over-threes, but only while working directly with the children.
What the role involves
- Leading curriculum and pedagogy across the setting

What you will need
- EYTS, EYPS, or QTS with an early years specialism
- A UK first degree or equivalent for those coming through EYITT
- Someone who wants to lead practice rather than retreat into an office
