Early Years Teaching

Permanent Montessori teacher jobs

Early Years TeachingPermanent UK-wide

Montessori-trained practice in settings that actually run the method, rather than settings that simply own the materials.

£28,000 to £34,000 outside London

Guide band for 2026. See how we work these out.

A small market with a specific requirement. Settings running genuine Montessori practice want the diploma and are usually prepared to wait for it, which makes these roles worth being on a list for.

What the role involves

  • Prepared environment, freely chosen work and uninterrupted work cycles
  • Observation-led planning in the Montessori tradition, alongside EYFS requirements
  • Presenting materials correctly, and knowing when not to intervene
  • Explaining the method to parents who chose it without fully understanding it

What you will need

  • Montessori diploma (MCI or equivalent), usually alongside a Level 3
  • Experience in a setting that ran the method properly
  • Comfort holding Montessori practice inside the EYFS framework

Also advertised as: Montessori Practitioner, Montessori Directress. Settings use these titles more or less interchangeably, so search for all of them.
